Music Review | Favorite Songs of 2019

I listen to a lot of music.

No, really, I turn it on as soon as I wake up in the morning, when I hop in the car to drive someplace, and when I’m just sitting around. There is always music playing, either from my phone or in my head. Actually, about the only time I don’t listen to music is when I’m in bed, trying to fall asleep because having noise in the room means my brain won’t shut off.

What can I say? I’m just a musical person.

Spotify automatically creates a playlist of your top 100 most played songs of 2019 and it was a pretty eclectic list, so I’m choosing to share with you my top 10 favorite songs instead…

This song was introduced to me by a friend I met playing Destiny 2 and we have since exchanged numerous more songs!

I’ve loved this song for absolute ages and it just got stuck in my head in 2019. Couldn’t stop playing it if I tried, lol.

If you’ve ever played the Mass Effect trilogy of games, then you understand why this song is so heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time.

A good friend of mine introduced me to AURORA a few years ago and I’ve been hooked on her sound ever since. This performer has so much talent, it’s crazy.

I know, I know, this is an OLD song, but can you blame me? It’s one of those super romantic sounding songs that I can’t help but hum along to when it starts playing.

Yuri On Ice was such a fun anime. It has a gorgeous art style, fun story, and amazing soundtrack and this song in particular hits me in the feels every time I hear it.

Are there any Hawkeye/Black Widow fans out there? Because this song is my theme song for that particular ship, lol, even though I usually can’t help but add a third into this pairing, this song just works for them.

I really felt like I was going nowhere for most of 2019, like I’d become stagnant in my personal and professional life. This Town seemed to reflect all that I was feeling and, let me tell you, I really felt each word of this song when it came up on my playlist.

Who doesn’t love this song? Go on, I’ll wait for you to think of someone. 😛

This is supposed to be the most calming piece of music you can find out there, but I listened to it mainly because it sounds so interesting… oh, and because it kind of blocks out the world, so there’s that.
